This meeting came at a time when the CJP’s 36-day agitation over the NEET paper leak and irregularities in the examination system concluded with the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Shirsat is the first leader from the Mahayuti government to establish contact with Abhijeet Dipke’s family.

संजय शिरसाट, जो छत्रपति संभाजीनगर के जिला प्रभारी मंत्री भी हैं, ने आंदोलन के दौरान दीपके परिवार से मिलने से परहेज क्यों किया, इसकी वजह स्पष्ट की। उन्होंने कहा कि उनके और दीपके परिवार के बीच 25 वर्षों से अधिक का पुराना संबंध है, लेकिन उन्होंने आंदोलन के दौरान मुलाकात नहीं की ताकि इस मामले को राजनीतिक रूप न दिया जा सके। शिरसाट ने कहा, “मैं अभिजीत से पहले भी मिलना चाहता था, लेकिन मैंने ऐसा नहीं किया क्योंकि इससे अवांछित राजनीतिक प्रतिक्रिया हो सकती थी। आज अभिजीत ने उल्लेखनीय सफलता हासिल की है और वह मेरे ही निर्वाचन क्षेत्र का युवा है। जब मेरे निर्वाचन क्षेत्र का कोई युवा राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर इतनी बड़ी सफलता हासिल करता है, तो उससे मिलना और उसके साथ खड़ा होना मेरा कर्तव्य है”।
Sanjay Shirsat, who is also the district guardian minister for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, explained why he refrained from visiting the Dipke family during the agitation. He revealed that he shares a long-standing relationship of over 25 years with the Dipke family, but chose not to meet them during the protests to ensure the matter was not given a political turn. Shirsat stated, “I wanted to meet Abhijeet earlier, but I avoided the meeting because it would have had unwanted political repercussions. Now, Abhijeet has achieved great success, and he is from my constituency. When a youth from my constituency achieves such great success at the national level, it is my duty to meet him and stand with him”.

शिरसाट के अनुसार, अभिजीत दीपके के माता-पिता आज भी चाहते हैं कि वह अमेरिका लौटकर अपनी पढ़ाई पूरी करें और वहां मिली नौकरी को ज्वाइन करें। अभिजीत ने बोस्टन विश्वविद्यालय से पब्लिक रिलेशंस में मास्टर डिग्री हासिल की है और उन्हें अमेरिका में नौकरी का प्रस्ताव भी मिला था। हालांकि, अभिजीत ने छात्रों के हित में आंदोलन से जुड़ने का फैसला किया। शिरसाट ने कहा, “उनके माता-पिता चाहते थे कि वह नौकरी करें, लेकिन अभिजीत की इच्छा छात्रों के लिए कुछ करने की थी”। शिरसाट ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया कि दीपके परिवार का राजनीति से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है और अमेरिका छोड़कर आंदोलन से जुड़ना अभिजीत का निजी फैसला था।
According to Shirsat, Abhijeet Dipke’s parents still want him to return to America, complete his education, and join the job he was offered there. Abhijeet has completed a Master’s degree in Public Relations from Boston University and had received a job offer in the United States. However, Abhijeet chose to join the movement for the welfare of students. Shirsat said, “His parents wanted him to take up the job, but Abhijeet had a wish to do something for students”. Shirsat also made it clear that the Dipke family has no connection with politics and that leaving America to join the agitation was Abhijeet’s personal decision.
सुरक्षा का आश्वासन-Security Assurance
शिरसाट ने दीपके परिवार को आश्वासन दिया कि अभिजीत की सुरक्षा की पूरी व्यवस्था सरकार करेगी। उन्होंने कहा कि अभिजीत अगले दो-तीन दिनों में छत्रपति संभाजीनगर लौट आएंगे। उनके महाराष्ट्र पहुंचने पर शिरसाट मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस से व्यक्तिगत रूप से अनुरोध करेंगे कि उन्हें आधिकारिक सुरक्षा प्रदान की जाए। शिरसाट ने कहा, “जब वे महाराष्ट्र आएंगे, तो मैं व्यक्तिगत रूप से मुख्यमंत्री से विशेष अनुरोध करूंगा कि उन्हें आधिकारिक सुरक्षा दी जाए ताकि उनकी जान को कोई खतरा न हो”।
Shirsat assured the Dipke family that the government would make full security arrangements for Abhijeet. He informed that Abhijeet would return to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in the next two to three days. Upon his arrival in Maharashtra, Shirsat will personally request Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to provide him with official security cover. Shirsat stated, “When he arrives in Maharashtra, I will personally make a special request to the Chief Minister to provide him with official security so that no threat is posed to his life”.

अभिजीत के पिता भगवान दीपके ने मंत्री की मुलाकात पर खुशी व्यक्त की। उन्होंने कहा कि वह सोच रहे थे कि प्रभारी मंत्री-जिनके साथ उन्होंने 15 वर्षों तक काम किया है-क्यों न तो उनसे मिलने आ रहे थे और न ही फोन कर रहे थे। भगवान दीपके ने कहा, “आंदोलन के दौरान कई नेताओं ने मुझे फोन किया और हमारे घर आए। लेकिन मैं सोच रहा था कि प्रभारी मंत्री जिनके साथ मैंने 15 साल काम किया क्यों न तो मिलने आ रहे थे और न ही फोन कर रहे थे। हालांकि, वह आज व्यक्तिगत रूप से आए और इस सवाल का जवाब दिया”। उन्होंने शिरसाट के तर्क को सही ठहराते हुए कहा कि आंदोलन के दौरान मिलने से राजनीतिकरण हो सकता था, इसलिए उनका न आना उचित था। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि अभिजीत के लौटने के बाद ही आंदोलन की भविष्य की दिशा पर चर्चा उचित होगी।

He revealed that he had been wondering why the guardian minister with whom he had worked for 15 years was neither visiting nor calling him. Bhagwan Dipke said, “During the protests, many leaders called me and visited our home. But I kept wondering why the guardian minister with whom I worked for 15 years was neither visiting nor calling me. However, he came personally today and answered that question”. He justified Shirsat’s reasoning, stating that visiting during the agitation could have led to political capitalization, making his absence appropriate. He also added that it would be appropriate to discuss the future direction of the movement only after Abhijeet returns.

He claimed that through this protest, many political parties were working to bake their own political potatoes. He also alleged that there was a race among INDIA bloc alliance members to claim credit for the Delhi protests. Shirsat stated that the central government adopted a “very positive stance” on the agitation’s demands, which led to its success. He refused to view this meeting through a political lens and presented it as a matter of family relations and inquiry into Abhijeet’s health.
